APP installation instructions:
Use your Android phone to scan the QR code, select to open it in the browser, and then follow the steps shown in the image to complete the installation. (The app is completely free; do not click on any ads or make any payments.)
The first time you connect the device to your phone, a dialog box will pop up. Select the option and click “OK”. After that, the app will open automatically whenever you connect the device. The app is ready to use when data is displayed on the screen.
Measurement method:
Once the device’s five probes are fully inserted into the soil, all soil data can be measured. It’s simple and convenient to use, and the results are displayed quickly and intuitively. To ensure accurate measurements, please carefully read the following precautions:
1.When using for the first time, the probes may have oil residue. It is recommended to insert the probes into the soil several times to remove the oil before measuring.
2. When inserting the probes, ensure they are fully inserted and avoid stones, plastic bags, rotten leaves, and other debris. Do not shake the device during measurement, ensuring close contact between the soil and the probes. (For very loose soil, you can slightly compact it before measuring).
3. For more accurate measurements, dig a hole to the depth of the plant roots, and then insert the probes horizontally for measurement.
4. Fertilizer moves with water; after rain, fertilizer is washed into the soil. As the water evaporates, the fertilizer will precipitate on the soil surface. Therefore, it is normal for nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium levels on the soil surface to be higher or lower than expected. It is generally recommended to dig a hole for measurement.
5. After inserting the device into the soil, wait about 3-5 seconds. Once the data stabilizes, you can read the data. pH (acidity/alkalinity) measurement is slower; the waiting time varies depending on the soil type. Wait about 3-5 minutes after inserting the probes into the soil before reading the data.
6. When measuring parameters such as nitrogen, phosphorus, potassium, and conductivity, ensure the moisture content is around 40%. With low moisture, many fertilizers will not dissolve, resulting in lower measured values. With high moisture, the fertilizer will be diluted, also resulting in lower measured values. If the moisture content is low, you can add water to create a muddy consistency before measuring. Do not add too much water; do not create a watery mud.
7. Most fertilizers are slow-release fertilizersnow. For example, urea fertilizer cannot be measured immediately after application; it must decompose into readily available components before it can be measured.
How to use the app:
1. After the app opens, all the data will be displayed. Once the data is stable, you can click the “Save Data” button. A dialog box will pop up; enter a name and click “Confirm” to save the data.
2. Click the “View Data” button to view the saved data. The data is saved as an Excel file, which can be found in the root directory and exported to a computer for analysis.
Troubleshooting and solutions:
1. If the product displays “Connection failed” when first plugged into the phone, it’s because the OTG function is not enabled. Most phones automatically enable the OTG function, but some phones require manual activation (such as OPPO and VIVO mobile). To enable it: search for “OTG” in the “Settings” menu, find the OTG switch, and turn it on. Alternatively, go to “Settings” -> “More connections” -> “OTG,” and then plug in the tester for normal use.
2. If the data is not displayed completely, it’s because the system font size is too large. Please reduce the font size in the system settings.
3. If a device that previously worked normally suddenly stops displaying data, unplug the device and insert a mouse or USB drive into the USB port to check if the phone responds. If the phone doesn’t respond, it may indicate a loose connection or damage to the OTG cable. Try using a different phone. If the problem persists with a different phone, the OTG cable is likely damaged and needs to be replaced.。
Reference data:
Measurement parameters | Plant adaptation range |
Electrical conductivity | 200-1500 |
PH | 5.0-7.8 |
Nitrogen (N) | 25-100 |
Phosphorus (P) | 30-90 |
Potassium (K) | 40-150 |
Fertility | 100-800 |
1. Different plants have vastly different temperature and water requirements. Please consult experts in the relevant industry. The above data is for reference only.
2. Soil moisture data is obtained according to standard methods (mass water content). For example, 20% moisture means that there are 200 grams of water in 1000 grams of soil. Different calculation methods yield different data; please be aware of the distinctions.
3. The above reference data represents the suitable soil range for the plants. Values that are too high or too low will affect plant growth. Please consult relevant experts regarding soil conditioning.
Q&A:
